OverviewReverend Charles A. Goodrich was an American author and Congressional minister. He was well known for writing works on American history and Christianity. An interesting fact about Goodrich is that he is credited with having the first printed citation of the epigram 'Have a place for every thing, and keep every thing in its proper place', which appeared in an article called 'Neatness', in the 'Ohio Repository' in 1927. This particular work is a sermon delivered in the First Congregational Church in Berlin, Connecticut, at the funeral of Mrs Martha Roberts in 1837. We are republishing this classic text with a brand new introductory biography of the author.
