This book presents photographs from the FC Gundlach collection from 1860 to 2006 and features photography that documents the image of people through their external appearance: fashions, poses, facial expression and gestures. The book is published on the occasion of the exhibition The Heartbeat of Fashion - Werke aus der Sammlung FC Gundlach at Haus der Photographie, Deichtorhallen Hamburg.
