OverviewThe Hanbury gardens successfully combine different styles from different generations. From 1876 to 1912, Thomas and Daniel Hanbury used the natural landscape- ruins and all -- to create gardens divided into areas reflecting the interest of an academic botanist. Cecil and Dorothy Hanbury used a more architectural approach from 1918 to 1938, creating a traditional 'landscaped' feel to the gardens. Now that cypresses have been planted, sculptures and fountains added and avenues opened, new vistas have been created a garden area of unique beauty and interest. A must for anyone interested in gardening. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Paola Gastaldo , Paola ProfumoPublisher: Umberto Allemandi & Co Imprint: Umberto Allemandi & Co Edition: English ed.
