Overview

Tanner is seventeen now, but writing about the horrifying experience of being a thirteen-year-old babysitter who's lost her baby brother down the throat of a magic hamper. Thinking she knows where he might have disappeared to, she embarks on a journey to save him before her mom and dad return home from their dinner and a movie special. If they survive, she is going to demand that she be paid for babysitting from now on! The Lumpin Family Circus had seen its last days after the magicians grew tired and old but Tanner sneaks out of her window and dares a trip to the Art district. She's finds more than she's bargained for. By bargaining, I mean trading a secondhand blouse for her brother and cat in return. But the old witch who runs Nan's curiosities has other plans. Tanner befriends a young girl named Viola and they work together to be magic back to the Art District. Take a journey through one of Jay Horne's Stephen King-inspired scary stories and face down a witch during the rescue mission.
