The Halfway Heart is a poetry collection with one purpose: to connect you to your lost emotions. Through relatable metaphors and everyday scenarios, it turns the regular into the incredible in a way that leaves the reader in their feels. Every poem is made to make you think, make you feel, make you close the book and sit with yourself in a way you might not have for a long time. From halfway to whole, it proves two things: that your feelings are your friends, not your foes, and how wonderful it is to experience life alongside them rather than in spite of them.

Author Information

Arya Houeto is a teen poet who enjoys writing poetry (duh), reading (also duh), and laughing way too loud at jokes that aren't that funny, amongst other things. Her work has won a Silver and Gold Key in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and performed at the University of Iowa. Her goal is that all of her readers will reconnect with their lost emotions in such a way that they live alongside them, rather than despite them.
