He has published numerous studies on Byzantine hagiography, historiography, and prosopography, and critical editions of several hagiographical texts. He is the editor of the two-volume The Ashgate Research Companion to Byzantine Hagiography (2011 and 2014) and is currently preparing a monograph on the social history of Hagia Sophia of Constantinople.
