Overview

'How long have you been dreaming of her?' 'Since I have had the use of reason' 'Do you mean...' 'Yes, I mean for more than a thousand years' In Book II of the series The Guide of Time, Alexander struggles to understand the feelings Ariane produces in him. Her face has shown up in his dreams throughout his long existence, but he always considered her as a subconscious representation of the purity the human spirit can achieve. Now that he has to face the real woman, he is lost. At the same time, Alexander has to fulfil his last mission on Earth. After a long journey inspiring ideas to improve mankind's understanding of science, he has to ensure the success of a breakthrough discovery that could have extraordinary implications for life as we know it. But his enemies are prepared to do anything to stop him. Zardoff, Alexander's nemesis, uses his influence on powerful leaders to create havoc around the world: terrorist acts, epidemics, racism and xenophobia are increasing whilst the environment is being destroyed. What neither Alexander nor Zardoff understands is that Ariane holds the secret for things to change. Book II ends with Alexander revealing to Ariane his story, the story of The Guide of Time. What readers say about The Guide of Time De Santis is a masterful storyteller, and I love how she has interwoven a contemporary tale of coming of age with a narrative history of the world's greatest societies . I sat down and read this book in a single evening, and very much look forward to reading the rest of the series. I definitely recommend this book. What a wonderful story this was and an absolute joy to read. This was a remarkable coming of age story combined with a rich tale of history and a variety of societies made the time fly by. I can't wait to read the rest of the series
