The Griffin Warrior

Overview

Courageous Jed Team Hugo, the World War II-era commandos first introduced in the historical novel ""Bocage,"" returns to the 21st century to confront a maniacal eco-terrorist known as the Red Medusa. Led by the mercurial all-pro football player Charley Montgomery, the Jeds must contend with enemies past and present while coping with the death of one of their own. In a mind-bending battle to the death where myth and science, triumph and tragedy collide, can the Jeds thwart the Red Medusa's plan to save the planet by destroying Humanity? Presale Book Review -- This book was a blast, as you Americans would say! I would highly recommend it. The Griffin Warrior combines an exciting adventure, solid history, vibrant characters, science, philosophy and (somewhat blasphemous -- you be the judge) theology. And much of it is set in my beautiful city. A fun, worthwhile read! Jean-Marie M Vendome Editorial, Paris

Author Information

Charlie Birmingham is a novelist who divides his time between the coasts of Southern California and Normandy, France, where he lives in a farmhouse, steps from the D-Day invasion beaches. Not coincidentally, he is a rabid fan of historical fiction and authors like M.M. Kaye, George MacDonald Frazier, Bernard Cornwell, and Philip Kerr. His successful first novel, ""Bocage"" explores the theme of personal sacrifice in a time of war against the backdrop of vicious hedgerow fighting in the Allied breakout from Normandy in 1944 and the hunt for a Nazi secret weapon. His second historical novel, ""Die Bckerei"" is the gripping journey of a reluctant young hero who joins forces with a compelling group of real historical figures to resist political extremism in Nazi Germany. It is also a cautionary tale that the forces that brought Hitler to power then still lurk in the shadows today, not only in Germany, but much closer to home. In his third historical novel, ""The Griffin Warrior,"" published in February 2026, courageous Jed Team Hugo reunites in this sequel to ""Bocage"" to do battle with ecoterrorists bent on saving the planet by destroying Humanity. When he is not writing, Charlie is brushing up on his French slang.
