OverviewHedgehog Notebook/Journal by Urchin Wear Katsushika Hokusai was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. He was influenced by Sesshu Toyo and other styles of Chinese painting. Born in Edo (now Tokyo), Hokusai is best known as author of the woodblock print series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. This is one of his lesser known prints: The Great Wave With Hedgehog. A little known and often overlooked series of prints that incorporated hedgehogs was recently discovered by hedgehog art historian PP Pricklepants.
