Reviews

The most original Aussie crime debut I’ve read in years. Bold, searing and gritty, The Graduate is a sharpened sword thrust into Australia’s dark colonial heart. -- Ashley Kalagian Blunt And just like that, Rebecca Lim becomes one of Australia’s most exciting crime writers! The Graduate is searing and unflinching. Settle in, because it will not let you go or look away. -- Sulari Gentill The Graduate is an explosive and razor-sharp read, cold as ice and crackling with vengeance. Fei Fei Chou is one of the most devastatingly complex main characters I’ve read in a while, tough as hell (and ready to visit it too if necessary). Trying to unearth a powerful secret at the law firm she’s a graduate in, and surrounded by people she can’t trust, Fei Fei’s frantic quest for justice makes for a darkly tense legal thriller. -- Fiona Hardy Rebecca Lim’s The Graduate is a page-turning, sophisticated and compelling triumph of a thriller. Her revelations about the legal world could only come from an insider: her characters are techni-colour vivid, her humour dry and morose, the dialogue cut-throat intense. In part horror, in part detective novel, the humanity of Fei shines through, and her character is as sharp and lethal as the pin she wears in her hair. -- Alice Pung Blistering, thrilling and utterly unputdownable, The Graduate is the ultimate inside job. -- Christine Keighery What is the meaning of Paukeaho? The answer will haunt you. Rebecca Lim’s The Graduate is a devastating thriller that will leave you reeling. -- Siang Lu
