Overview

"Drawn from all four Gospels, the pieces featured here are ""unplugged"" in that they get to the heart of the biblical text, reflecting the life of Jesus in action by discovering who he is, and what he said and did. Some tell the story, some explore an aspect of the original account, and many pieces include children. Likewise, some of the pieces are meant to be performed and others enjoyed quietly which enables cross-curricular teaching linking RE to literacy and drama. The passage being studied will invoke differing types of creative writing in relation to Jesus' life and actions, ranging in mood from serious to funny. Each piece comes with a short introduction of open ended questions to encourage further exploration of the original story and the relevant Bible passage for ease of reference. Further assistance comes by a comprehensive cross-reference index to themes, verse forms and Bible references. Lucy Moore is a professional actor and storyteller. She works for BRF as part of the Barnabas Ministry team. A published writer, performer and creative arts director with a background in teaching languages, she makes use of lively original poetry, mime, storytelling, and a variety of drama workshop activities. Her work with BRF includes sharing the Bible with children through Barnabas RE Days. Lucy is author of The Gospels Unplugged, The Lord's Prayer Unplugged, Topsy Turvy Christmas, Messy Church Messy Church 2 and All-Age Worship all published by BRF. She and her husband, Paul, have two children, Arthur and Judith. They worship at St Wilfrid's, Cowplain in Hampshire, where Paul is the minister.
