OverviewThis book is not a monument of perfection, but my vessel of becoming. The Gospel of Poetic Frolic gathers the poems I wrote while walking through my own seasons filled with darkness and light. Each poem is part of a personal pilgrimage through language and emotion: grief, rage, tenderness, romance, and the slow work of healing. English is both my craft and my classroom. I am still a student of its vastness, its shifting grammar, its ancient roots, and its power to wound and to mend. In these pages I weave old echoes of Elizabethan and Anglo-Saxon tones with modern lyric and the quiet simplicity of Japanese forms. The trial: the journey through shadow towards a fragile but honest light. Every word has been weighed with care. Many nights I returned to the same line, again and again, searching for the rhythm closest to the trueness of my thoughts and feelings. For me, poetry is not only written; it is lived, revised, and relearned. I offer this book to you as a living record of that process. Why I wrote this for young adults When I wrote these poems, I often had the younger generations in mind. Those who stand between who they were and who they are becoming. I wanted to give you language for the feelings that are hard to name: heartbreak, confusion, desire, shame, courage, and the stubborn will to continue. I wanted you to explore both darkness and romance without losing yourselves in either. The poems invite you to see your inner world more clearly and to rediscover who you are beneath the noise. The layered English invites you to grow with the language itself. As you read, you do not only feel; you learn to listen more closely to words, and in that listening you may also hear more of yourself. This book is for young adults who sense there is more within them than the roles and labels they have been given, and who are ready to look inward with honesty and courage. Why this book can strengthen the bond between parents and their teenagers Yes, this book is also for parents, caregivers, and mentors who wish to meet the inner world of their children, teenagers or young adults with more understanding. The poems open a doorway to speak about darkness and romance in life: about love, boundaries, mistakes, fear, longing, and hope. Reading together, or even sharing favourite poems, can become a gentle ritual. It allows you to discuss from another perspective, instead of giving a lesson from above. In this way, the book becomes a shared mirror. You can discover how differently or how similarly you each experience the same lines, and this can deepen trust and empathy. If you are a parent, this book can help you enter the conversations that are often difficult to start, yet essential for a strong bond: conversations about pain, attraction, secrecy, forgiveness, and the desire to be truly seen in an authentic manner. I sincerely appreciate you for considering to make a purchase. My wish is that The Gospel of Poetic Frolic will offer you a way to rediscover yourself, and a way to walk beside others more closely. Above all, I wish it invites you to listen more deeply, to love more bravely, and to remain, at any age, a devoted student of the inner life. A big shout out to APSFPS, a platform like a parent to me where I was allowed to rediscover myself and develop my talents.
