OverviewThis Gospel is composed in two parts, or rather, saying in two Gospels.First Gospel: The Infancy of Christ according to Peter.Second Gospel: The Crucifixion of Christ.According to reports made by Our Lady, this Gospel was written by the Apostle Peter. First published in 1677, it has versions in Greek, Latin, Armenian and Arabic. Peter's Gospel was discovered in 1886 in Egypt and, according to experts, was written in the second century. Today it has been categorized as apocryphal and has been used in some primitive Christian churches. It was even accepted by Serapion of Antioch (190-221), bishop of Antioch. After a detailed reading, Serapion concluded that its content taught teaching doctrines and changed its opinion about the book. In addition to Bishop Serapion, other church fathers made reference to the text: Origen, Eusebius of Caesarion, Jerome of Stridus and Theodoret of Cyrus. Many people still wonder why the Gospels of the Bible do not speak of Christ's childhood and youth. This has provoked countless investigations, including some that mention that Jesus went into exile with the monks of Tibet or lived with the Essenes, with whose masters he instructed himself. To admit this is to deny the divinity of Christ, for if he needed a master, it would be more logical that, nowadays, we should worship his master and not him, the apprentice. This is very clear in passages XLVIII and XLIX.In this account, there are more details about Jesus' encounter with the wise men in the temple of Jerusalem, as well as his games with the other children and his work in Joseph's company. The Gospel of Childhood shows in a sensitive and beautiful way what was the childhood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who from an early age already manifested his holiness. It is a text that enchants by its beauty, simplicity and the situations it portrays, where Christ appears as the child he was, even though his divinity led him to unusual gestures, but marked by early wisdom and the coherence of his acts.
