Author Information

Stephen L. W. Greene is a retired American professor of journalism with a BA from Cornell, an MA for Berkeley and a PhD from the University of London, England. He taught for many years at San Jose State University. He started out writing for Irving Wallace in the 1970s ( The People's Almanac ), worked for nearly a decade as a newspaper reporter in Northern California ( Mendocino Grapevine ) and since has completed many articles and books, including his most recent one on Southeast Asian history, ( Absolute Dreams ), a study of the Czech Republic in the mid-1990s ( Emerging from Behind the Irony Curtain ) and a satire of the Bush years ( The Swallows in the Boatyard ).
