The Glass House: A WW2 Historical Fiction Novel Based on a True Story of a Holocaust Survivor

Overview

How far would one man go to save thousands from the Nazis? Budapest, 1944. When Nazi Germany occupied Hungary, the fate of the country's Jews was sealed. Across the nation, deportation trains begin carrying hundreds of thousands to Auschwitz. Soon, only one great Jewish community remains - the Jews of Budapest. Most still hope the war will end before the Nazis reach them. One man knows better. Jewish leader Max Krauser understands that time is running out. Determined to stop the final destruction of Budapest's Jews, he launches a daring mission to outwit the Nazi authorities and create a refuge that could save thousands from certain death. But the Nazi grip on the city tightens with every passing day, and the machinery of annihilation is moving closer to the capital. In a desperate race against time, Krauser must risk everything - his freedom, his family, and his life - to protect his people before it is too late. Based on a remarkable true story from one of the most dramatic rescue efforts of the Holocaust, this gripping account reveals how courage and determination stood against the darkness of history.

Reviews

One of the best Reads I've had the pleasure of reading on the Holocaust. History that's worth the time of reading - Linda M. I enjoyed reading even when it was a difficult storyline. It shows the inhuman actions that some can take if left to their fanatical ideas. I pray that something like this never happens again - Adam R. What a really interesting book were people risked their own lives to save all those people i really recommend this book - Judy W.
