Overview

Kira is so afraid of bugs that she often stays inside, missing out on fun adventures with her older brother, Kenny. Kenny has a superpower-he can run really fast. Kira's fear strains her relationship with Kenny. Kira longs for a superpower of her own, to help her overcome her terror of what might be crawling or flying nearby. Then, one day at preschool, a tiny bug surprises her in a way that changes everything. Can Kira find the courage to face her fear and finally reconnect with her brother?

Author Information

Debra Kornfield published four books in twenty years of mission work in Brazil while pioneering abuse recovery and raising four children. She framed her memoir Karis: All I See Is Grace, now also in Portuguese and Spanish, around her daughter Karis' luminous journals and poetry. Horse Thief 1898, Treasure Hunt 1904 and Facing the Faeries 1906, published in February 2024, complete the Charlie and Cally historical fiction trilogy. The Giggly Bug follows Campfire Song Stories, her first book for children. Living now in Pittsburgh, PA, Debra enjoys adventuring with her four grandchildren, hiking, and keeping up with her husband Dave, her seven sibs, and many South American friends. She returns to Latin America whenever she can. Follow her on HorseThief1898.blog and devotionally on ButGod.blog.
