Susan Merritt has done a fantastic job of expressing the complexity of the spiritual gift of discernment in The Gift of Seeing Angels and Demons. The book is worth buying just for the extensive Reading List, Bibliography and End Notes. I've known so many Christians with the gift of discernment and it's a tough gift! LOTS of spiritual warfare. This book is a much-needed resources for those who have, or work with people who have, this gift. You especially enjoy the 7 principles of spiritual warfare and how to determine your giftedness. "Susan Merritt bio: Susan Merritt has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Newburgh Theological Seminary, an M.A. in Humanities from CSU-Dominguez Hills, and a B.A. in Music from the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Merritt has helped her congregation to ""see"" what is really going on in the spiritual realm through her prayer and discerning of spirits gifts. A retired teacher, Susan lives in Northern California with her husband. They have three adult children who are married and have children of their own. Gil Stieglitz in an internationally recognized author, speaker, and leadership consultant. He excites, educates, and motivates audiences all of through world using humor, passion, leadership, and wisdom. He teaches practical theology at Biola University, William Jessup University, and Western Seminary. Dr. Gil founded Principles to Live By (ptlb.com), a non-profit organization committed to teaching God's principles in a life-giving way. He sits on the board for Courage Worldwide (www.courageworldwide.org), an organization that builds homes to rescue children forced into sexual slavery. He has been a denominational leader for fifteen years with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and served as the senior pastor of a vibrant church in southern California for seventeen years. Currently, Gil serves as the Discipleship Pastor of Bayside Church in Granite Bay, California."
