Overview

Summer vacation in London turns mysterious and exciting when Mia learns that her aunt’s antique shop is actually a ghost placement agency and she gets training in how to cross over into the spirit world. Welcome to Pandora’s Antiques, with rarities for every occasion. Nowhere does Mia feel so at home as in her Aunt Harriet’s antique shop. How wonderful that she can spend her summer vacation there! But something is wrong in the store. Things disappear as if by magic, furniture that has just been wiped dusts up again in seconds, and there is an eerie number of clatter at night. However, her aunt acts as if this is completely normal. Mia, on the other hand, suspects that Harriet is hiding something from her—just like the question of who her birth parents are.

Reviews

""It's been two weeks since I put down 'The Ghosts of Pandora Pickwick' and the magic of the book is still very much present in my mind. A spookily beautiful, atmospheric adventure - perfect for Halloween [...] With 'The Ghosts of Pandora Pickwick,' Christina Wolff has created a wonderful book – exciting, a little scary, full of humor and heart. A mixture, paired with a relaxed, easy writing style, that lets you float through the story. I can therefore fully recommend the book to all enthusiastic readers aged 10 and over. Five Stars. -- Miri * Think Twice * ""The beautiful cover immediately appealed to me and when I saw the name of the author Christina Wollf, whose 'Magicians of Paris' I really liked, I knew that this book and I would have a lot of fun together. [...] I thought the concept of the store was really original and I had a lot of fun exploring the ghost world [...] and finding out the big family secret. ""The book is beautifully designed, there are 'paintings' of the most important characters on the inside cover and each new chapter is decorated with an ornate shop bell. I'm happy to give this book a well-deserved 5 stars."" * Goodreads * This is a joy of a book [...] the storyline itself is totally absorbing and Mia is an immediately likeable and positive main protagonist who I was rooting for from the start. Translated from German, I'm not sure if there are any future installments in the offing, but I would definitely read them if there were. [...] A brilliant book, especially for younger readers who enjoy ghostly happenings.""   * Netgalley * "" [...] A flurry of action and adventure, stretching the imagination and hurtling headlong toward an eerie, exciting resolution [...] satisfyingly spooky in the end."" -- Kirkus Reviews
