His novels are inspired by first-hand experience as a patrol officer and detective. He draws on these experiences to bring authenticity and realism to his writing. An early edition of his debut novel was shortlisted in the Wattpad Awards. He went on to complete the Queensland Writers Centre’s Printable Program and Fishbowl Residency, and was runner-up in the Hawkeye Manuscript Development Prize — an achievement that led to his first publishing contract. Jack later returned to the competition as a judge. Based in Brisbane, Jack co-hosts the Genre Fiction Podcast alongside fellow author Harry Colfer and has appeared as a guest on I Catch Killers and Crime Insiders. He also mentors emerging Australian crime writers through one-on-one coaching and workshops, and is currently studying Creative Writing at the University of Queensland.
