This special re-print edition of Thomas Mauger Bichard's ""The General Herd Book of the Island of Guernsey, Part 1: 1881"" is considered one of the most important works ever published on this famous breed of Dairy Cattle. First published in 1881, this important work on Guernsey cattle, has not seen the light of day since its early publication. Included are registration details on the earliest Guernsey Cattle that were registered on the Island of Guernsey. Included are records on 210 head of Guernsey Cattle that were registered by 58 owners on the Island of Guernsey. This was the first herd book of its kind on the Guernsey breed and offers a treasury of information on the earliest of purebred Guernsey Cattle.
