Mary Taylor Simeti is a New Yorker who has been living in Sicily for over fifty years. She is the author of On Persephone's Island and six other books regarding the island, and for years she contributed regularly to the travel sections of the New York Times and to its Sophisticated Traveler supplement, and then to the Arts and Leisure section of the Financial Times of London. Susan Pettee lives in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. She studied botanical painting with Anne-Marie Evans at the English Gardening School in London and received a Certificate in Botanical Painting from the Society of Botanical Artists in England in 2007. She has exhibited in New York, in Washington, D.C., in Portland, Oregon, Great Barrington, and in Paris and Perigueux, France.
