The gardens, many in continental Europe and the US, are/ were of powerful simplicity and sophisitication and are well served by the photography and text. Ham & High Since many of Page's gardens gardens have perished, the book is not a complete catalogue, nor is it a biography, but it does provide a detailed account of Page's life and work, presenting where possible, the best and most representative of the hundreds of gardens he created. The brief chronology, extensive index and comprehensive acknowledgements page would make this a useful tool for scholars, though it's the photographs themselves that prove the greatest tribute to this great designer. -- Katie Campbell Art Book Author InformationGabrielle van Zuylen was born in France and lives in Paris.
