Julius Caesar's firsthand account of wars he fought in Gaul between 58 and 52 BC, in seven books one for each year. This edition is NOT a ""mass market printing"" but a high-quality edition printed on white paper. The final published version contains an eighth book, written by Aulus Hirtius, consul of the Roman Republic in 43 AD, after Caesar's death. In addition to the wars in Gaul, Book 5 has sections on the customs of the British, and Book 6 has material on the Germans. There are British expeditions in Books 4 and 6 and German expeditions in Books 4 and 6.
