Overview

Milly O'Leary was raised in Molitor, a small township in Taylor County, Wisconsin, U.S.A.. Much of what is included in her thesis: The Future of Molitor: A Family was experienced first hand as a child growing up on the family farm. As the oldest child in a family of ten, she was given responsibility that was sometimes overwhelming. The description of her chores is absolutely true, and as a child, she thought this is how everyone lived. Later, she began to question why life had to be so hard. The Future of Molitor: A Family was written for her Master's Program at the University of Minnesota. Research in the farming community included interviewing those who lived there from the 1930s until present time.
