May the adventures continue. Author InformationDoug was born in Mackay in the 20th Century. He attended schools in Sarina to grade ten, then finished off his high school education at Church of England Grammar School, Brisbane. He completed a Chemical Engineering degree at Queensland University then an MBA by external study whilst working. Doug spent most of his working career in sugar mills in North Queensland. He retired from the sugar industry in 2017 and has since been a part time consultant. The Franklin River Springs to Life is his first book. He commenced his writing career writing weekly articles for the Ayr Advocate in North Queensland. Doug has also written and presented technical papers for the Australian Society of Sugar Cane Technologists. Ann was born in the Burdekin area in North Queensland of Cypriot parents.
