OverviewThis supplementary volume reports on investigations carried out on a small fortified site on a hill near to the village of Phylla in central Euboea. A topographical survey and subsequent excavations aimed to provide evidence for the date and nature of the occupation of the site, and the function of the buildings there. As well as the architectural sequence, the contributors report on the ceramic vessels and lamps (in German), the environmental remains and the function of the site within the local district (both in English), assessing the likelihood of it having been a defensive fort during the late Archaic period.
