OBSESSIONS CAN TURN DEADLY. Eric Ward has a new client: Dieter Barschell. He's an ex-professional footballer charged with dealing drugs at a Newcastle racecourse. Eric secures bail for his client. He also precipitates a murder investigation. While defending Barschell, Eric antagonizes one of the prosecution witnesses, DCI Charlie Spate. Can the two men work together to try to resolve this mess? This time Eric's client has connections that stretch far beyond Tyneside. He soon finds himself having to protect a German journalist, Hannah Witt, who believes the case is connected to her homeland. Will he be able to tie up all the loose ends before more people get hurt?

Author Information

Roy Lewis is a well-established crime writer with more than sixty novels to his name. He lives in the north of England, where he sets many of his books. He is a former college principal and Inspector of Schools who now runs business training programs and has business interests in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. He has three children-all of them lawyers. He has also written books on law under the pen name J. R. Lewis. John Lee is an illustrator from Memphis, TN currently living in Brooklyn, NY. He received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute, and MFA from SVA's Illustration as Visual Essay program. He's worked in a variety of markets including: storyboarding, advertising, editorial, book, fashion and web illustration, as well as live drawing and reportage. He has also taught illustration at the Memphis College of Art.
