OBSESSIONS CAN TURN DEADLY. Eric Ward has a new client: Dieter Barschell. He's an ex-professional footballer charged with dealing drugs at a Newcastle racecourse. Eric secures bail for his client. He also precipitates a murder investigation. While defending Barschell, Eric antagonizes one of the prosecution witnesses, DCI Charlie Spate. Can the two men work together to try to resolve this mess? This time Eric's client has connections that stretch far beyond Tyneside. Author Information

Roy Lewis is a well-established crime writer with more than sixty novels to his name. He lives in the north of England, where he sets many of his books. He is a former college principal and Inspector of Schools who now runs business training programs and has business interests in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. He has three children-all of them lawyers. He has also written books on law under the pen name J. R. Lewis. British narrator John Lee has read audiobooks in almost every conceivable genre, from Charles Dickens to Patrick O'Brian, and from the very real life of Napoleon to the entirely imagined lives of sorcerers and swashbucklers. He has won numerous Audie Awards and AudioFile Earphones Awards, and he was named a Golden Voice by AudioFile in 2009. Lee is also an accomplished stage actor and wrote and coproduced the feature films Breathing Hard and Forfeit.
