J. J. Murphy is professor emeritus of film at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is the author of The Black Hole of the Camera: The Films of Andy Warhol, Me and You and Memento and Fargo: How Independent Screenplays Work, and Rewriting Indie Cinema: Improvisation, Psychodrama, and the Screenplay.
