OverviewThe story is about the first concert performed as part of the Grand gala opening of a new and uniquely built, futuristic Amphitheater. The concert, with the delectable musical repertoire, is interspersed with sporadic events that evolve into significant parts of the expansive celebrations. Spectacular Laser light shows, Television, audiovisual, and multimedia effects embellish the settings; enhance the ambience. The hall provides the audience with a fully immersive experience. They are entertained and exhilarated to unprecedented levels; ultimately making them active participants in the ongoing performance and ensuing drama. The hall itself is a marvel reminiscent of Indian & Mughal architecture with ornamental facades; fluted terracotta colonnades and vaulted ceilings. They display inscribed Vedic verses, arts, and symbols. The tapestries depict Mohiniyattam & Bharatha-Natyam dance & choreography on one side; paintings of pompous processions of maharajahs carried on palanquins along the sprawling promenades and the splendour of the palace courtyard in juxtaposition with the struggles of the poor subjects, parades of folk festivals on the opposite sidewall. The architectural fittings and seatings are designed to aid and amplify the overall superb acoustic qualities and technical excellence. The hall and surroundings are furnished with futuristic visual and surround sound listening features. They are thematically and systematically integrated with advanced light, visual, and television production techniques & sound effects. These eclectic components help to magnify listeners' musical acumen and indulgence in every aspect of the performance. It elevates the psyche and imagination; evokes emotional effect to the highest degree! Crosstalk, mutual stimulation, and interactions of visual and auditory circuits occur naturally. The features in the auditorium tend to accentuate them to afford the utmost in listening and visual stimulation. Several analogies, contextual explanations, and anecdotal cases are stated all along to elucidate major concepts. The picture collages help the imagination. Collectively, they should make the book worth an interesting read, and a source of useful information. In addition, the book strives to unravel certain hidden wonders of our environment, nature, biological sciences & applied technologies; traditions & customs; joys & struggles; attitudes and lifestyles of humanity we witness in the world around us. ""A book is enticingly interesting in a unique style of storytelling"". The main themes are music, sound, and acoustics. A gifted singer with a moving story of her own beside her magnificent voice; the band orchestra, bizarre guest appearance involving baffling events, an absorbing performance; spontaneously reactive audience, and the listeners who enjoy the immersive experience are some of the exciting facets of the concert. Philanthropy and gift from a grateful Arab Sheik; he applies his knowledge of Biological Sciences successfully to solve a critical family problem. History of the fabulous Spice trade culminated in centuries-long oppressive colonization; the plight of the Sephardic Jews; the enduring generosity of the Kochi Maharajah; the accommodating attitude of the population, and other topics intermingle admirably in the story of the splendid concert. The eclectic concert and the tunes of the East, West, and Middle East sound in perfect harmony. Nonetheless, a lingering obsession and wild speculations of the mystery event in the concert takes the form of a folk story with no ending in sight, and nags many minds! The book discusses many aspects of sound, music, dance, acoustics, stage performances; fine and performing arts, and caters to readers worldwide.
