Formerly he was a Member of the European Parliament and a borough councillor. He lives with his family in Kent. Anthony Marten is the son of Neil Marten. He spent his working life in the Brewing and Pub industries at Courage, Midsummer Leisure, Marstons, Morlands and Gales. He has been actively involved in Conservative politics in East Hampshire as successively Deputy Chairman, Chairman and President of East Hampshire Conservative Association.During his father's foreign postings in the Foreign Office he lived in Egypt, Turkey and Germany.
