WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE ONE OF THE COOL KIDS? Younger children often want to emulate older children. But maybe the cool kids aren't so cool after all. Growing up is a challenge in an ever-changing culture. As parents, grandparents, and teachers, we hope that our children will admire older children and adults who demonstrate strong moral character. Unfortunately, the culture often wants to steer them down a less desirable path. As caregivers of young children, it is our greatest duty to guide them toward healthy decisions and relationships-and especially to the narrow path leading to the Cross.

Gwen Gumble is the mother of five adult children-six, including the African ""daughter"" that joined her along the way. Gwen always loved reading with her children and continues to enjoy sharing stories with her grandchildren.For the past eight years, Gwen has been on the roster of a disaster response team. When disaster strikes anywhere in the world, Gwen has the privilege of traveling to that country and serving on those focused missions.
