The Final Girl Support Group [Dramatized Adaptation] International Edition

Overview

In horror movies, the final girls are the ones left standing when the credits roll. They made it through the worst night of their lives...but what happens after? Like his bestselling novel The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, Grady Hendrix's latest is a fast-paced, frightening, and wickedly humorous thriller. From chain saws to summer camp slayers, The Final Girl Support Group pays tribute to and slyly subverts our most popular horror films--movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Scream. Lynnette Tarkington is a real-life final girl who survived a massacre. For more than a decade, she's been meeting with five other final girls and their therapist in a support group for those who survived the unthinkable, working to put their lives back together. Then one woman misses a meeting, and their worst fears are realized--someone knows about the group and is determined to rip their lives apart again, piece by piece. But the thing about final girls is that no matter how bad the odds, how dark the night, how sharp the knife, they will never, ever give up. Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music! Narrated by Jessica Schly as Lynnette. Featuring Kelly Baskin as Stephanie, Yesenia Iglesias as Marilyn, Alyssa Keegan as Heather, Elizabeth Jernigan as Chrissy, Stephanie Németh-Parker as Dr. Carol, Mort Shelby as Garrett, Su Ling Chan as Julia, Jacob Yeh as Skye, Holly Adams as Dani, Nora Achrati as Michelle, Erika Rose as Adrienne, and Dawn Ursula as the Archivist. With additional performances by Rose Elizabeth Supan, Rob McFadyen, Scott McCormick, Andy Clemence, Oliver Jackson, Bradley Foster Smith, Julie Hoverson, Steve Wannall, Terence Aselford, James Konicek, Christopher Walker, Robb Moreira, Christopher Williams, Colleen Delany, Donald Guzzi, Jonathon Church, Karen Novack, Yasmin Tuazon, Jeri J. Marshall, Matthew Bassett, Lilly Beacon, Chris Davenport, Ken Jackson, Eric Messner, Tatyana Ridgeway, Mark Harrietha, Michael John Casey, Megan Hastie, and Grady Hendrix.

Author Information

Grady Hendrix is a novelist and screenwriter based in New York City whose novels have won wide acclaim. Horrorstör was named one of the best books of 2014 by National Public Radio, and Paperbacks from Hell won the Bram Stoker Award. Holly Adams is a classically trained, award-winning actor and narrator who loves every single thing about stories and the beings that inhabit them. With her attention to tone and character integrity, Holly enjoys narrating pretty much anything, and specializes in action-adventure/fantasy, mysteries/thrillers, and the subtle comfort of self-help nonfiction. Holly's first language was Southern, after which her family moved around a lot, finally settling in rural New York. Combined with a love of languages and her professional training, these experiences gave her a range of regional Southern dialects and an excellent capacity for accent and dialect in general. When not behind a mic, Holly continues to perform on stage, in films, and with the circus, especially Red Nose. Stephanie Németh-Parker is a SAG-AFTRA audiobook narrator, voiceover artist, and actress with over thirty years of experience. With a voice that has been described as warm and soothing, her versatility and adeptness with accents has enabled her to work on a multitude of projects. Su Ling Chan is a dynamic individual with a rich cultural background, having been raised in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, San Francisco, Dallas, and Los Angeles. She speaks English, Malay, and Mandarin, and brings a unique blend of Malaysian and General American accents to her work. A Meisner-trained actor, she has a passion for martial arts, holding the title of Malaysia's first homegrown female Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu. In her leisure time, she enjoys playing video games, watching anime, cosplaying, cooking, fermenting kombucha, manually brewing coNee, and steeping Chinese tea. Above all, Su Ling is an avid reader, devouring an average of 200 books yearly and actively following #BookTok for the latest literary trends.
