Book One: The Iron Axe Karl Hockey wants more in life than just chopping wood with a dull wooden axe, and gathering supplies for his village. When the village Shaman undertakes to send Karl dreams of glory and the outside world, Karl sets out on a journey that will be the foundation of his life and will determine the survival of his friends in the tiny village he calls home. After he finds a small cache of supplies, he learns of a greater treasure, guarded by a great evil, in a nearby jungle pyramid. Seeking the adventure he has long dreamed about, Karl becomes entangled in a web of deceit between an ancient evil, and the kindly wizard in the old caves below the jungle pyramid. Book Two: Spiderbane After saving his village from a an evil alchemist, Karl is lured out of his small village by the legendary weapon, Spiderbane. Combined with magical armor, it would make him nearly invincible to the evils that threaten the lands around him. Haunted by the elusive evil powers of his enemies, Karl overcomes many obstacles in order to reach the treasured armors of old. New friends emerge, as all hope seems to dwindle around him, and with the support of his allies, Karl learns that there is more to his world than just chopping wood and mining precious minerals. Book Three: The Sword of Power Lost beneath the mountains in dangerous caverns, Karl seeks to explore further the bounty of the ancient mines beneath the ground. Just when he discovers the means of escape from the old mines, a hideous creature interferes with his plans and sends him to a remote part of the caverns. When he loses his valued weapon, his situation seems more dire, until a new and more powerful weapon becomes available. Great evil seeks to destroy him once he retrieves the powerful weapon, and Karl must fight to survive the endless waves of monsters that live in the mines and tunnels below ground. Book Four: The Nether Crown Still stuck in the deep caverns underground, Karl encounters a new force, more terrible than the last. Hurled into the fiery Nether realm, Karl must battle his way through hordes of fire monsters as he seeks to find a way home. Hope lies in a single escape route through which traps and monsters attempt to halt his progress. Karl musters his courage as he encounters an old foe in an attempt to free hostage villagers from his foe's vile experiments. Book Five: Return to Power Karl breathes the fresh air of the sunlit world, and gifted with the valuable magical arms he has acquired, seeks to put an end to the evil his foe is about to unleash on the world. Joined with powerful allies, Karl is determined to put a stop to the threatening evil once and for all.
