The Final Adventure of Marly and Aerie

Overview

Marly and Aerie are two guide dogs working across America with Juliet and Shawn, who are blind. This adventure takes the readers in a hansom cab ride throughout Central Park. In New York City, from the spires of Saint Patrick's Cathedral to leading a parade, the bright lights of Broadway cannot be diminished, and there is no limit to their excitement. Marly and Aerie's, two Labradors, adventures are as unforgettable as the delicious taste of the street hot dogs in New York City while educating the public about guide dog awareness everywhere they go.

Author Information

Born in Colombia and raised in the United States, Juliet Cody built a career as a teacher and mother before losing her vision. Refusing to be defined by blindness, she mastered mobility, Braille, and independent living, becoming a leader in the blind community. She has served on the state board of the National Federation of the Blind, founded local chapters, taught at the Colorado Center for the Blind, and currently leads the San Diego Guide Dogs for the Blind Chapter. Supported by twenty-seven scholarships, she earned both her BA and MA in Literature and Writing. Juliet now travels the country with her guide dog, Marly, alongside her best friend, Shawn, and his guide dog, Aerie-advocating for inclusion and challenging conventions wherever she goes.
