The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe

Overview

A book which gives scientific proof of the paranormal. Psychic activity, remote viewing, the power of prayer and homeopathy are all discussed in this book which The Ecologist called ‘one of the most thought-provoking reads of the year’, and which has already gained a almost cult following. Sales Handles: • A highly readable scientific detective story which reveals how ‘the Field’ a vast cobweb of energy connecting everything in the universe, past and present, is responsible for many of the most profound human mysteries How psychics can read the future and the past; how remote viewing works – and how such techniques have been used by the CIA; how energy healing works; why homeopathy works and all sorts of other mysteries are explored by the frontier scientists Lynne McTaggart has interviewed.

Reviews

'I think this is an important book and should be widely read. It stretches the imagination, making a good case that we are on the verge of another revolution in our understanding of the universe -- perhaps even greater than the one that heralded the Atomic Age.' Arthur C. Clarke 'We must freely explore the unknown. Read, learn, accept and change your view of life ! fascinating.' Bernie Siegel, M.D. 'The Field is a preview of third-millennium science and how it will touch the lives of every person on earth!McTaggart's book should come with a warning: MAY FOREVER CHANGE YOUR WORLD VIEW.' Larry Dossey, M.D. A fascinating read for anyone who believes there is more to this world than meets the eye. Unputdownable. JACQUES BENVENISTE 'One of the most powerful and enlightening books I have ever read. I encourage everyone to spend the time examining how we are all connected by thought, by emotions, and yes, even by the atoms and molecules that make up our bodies. This kind of awareness is needed today more than ever before.' DR WAYNE DYER The Field is one of the most thought-provoking reads of 2001!This is not the first book on the universal energy called 'The Zero Point Field' , but it is probably the most readable, for a non scientist.' THE ECOLOGIST 'The Force is with us, even if mainstream science is taking its time to get up to speed in acknowledging it. Fortunately, as Lynne McTaggart highlights in The Field, frontier scientists have been performing experiments that prove the reality of a realm that hitherto had been the domain of Eastern mystics! The vast scope of this book lifts the veil on a state of being that is our birthright!' Nexus magazine Lynne McTaggart has done us a great favor by her extensive reporting on this wondrous topic. Her work is strongly recommended. Hal Fox, Editor, Journal of New Energy

For several years now, authors with New Age leanings have been claiming that the higher levels of quantum physics are proving consistent with many metaphysical beliefs about the nature of the universe, particularly the existence of the mysterious 'life force' held to underlie many ancient philosophical traditions. But where was the evidence for these assertions, at least at a level accessible to an ordinary reader without a doctorate in physics? Well, here it is, in a fascinating marriage of high science and spirituality, from the pen of journalist Lynne McTaggart, author of the groundbreaking book What Doctors Don't Tell You and editor of the magazine of that name. It's deliberately told as an unfolding detective story, and liberally sprinkled with vignettes detailing the private lives and thoughts of the scientists involved, based on her extensive conversations with them as well as their research findings. This is clearly a somewhat uncritical analysis and, unless you are a physics graduate, you will probably have to accept many of her explanations at face value. Inevitably it includes both orthodox findings and what many might regard as 'quasi-science'. The tale which emerges centres on the discovery of the Zero Point Field, a universal energy interconnecting the cosmos. This field exists in the apparent empty space of the universe and comprises a potentially vast energy source which might be tapped for space travel; explain at a quantum level the mysteries of gravity, inertia, DNA, consciousness, creativity and illness; alter the meaning of Einstein's famous equation E=mc2; and offer a scientific basis for phenomena as diverse as extrasensory perception, levitation, homoeopathy, healing and the power of prayer. It also purports to show, as metaphysicists have always claimed, that matter is a sort of illusion: the only fundamental physical entity is energy. An extraordinary analysis of the science of miracles. (Kirkus UK)
