The Felix Project: A Memoir of Music, Brotherhood, and the Sound That Never Dies

Overview

In 1960, Syracuse University was celebrating its national Championship in Football, Ernie Davis who would become America's first Black Heisman Trophy winner. Sigma Phi Epsilon, a Fraternity that sat on Walnut and Marshall Street accepted two new pledges, Felix Cavaliere and Tom Black. Felix would form the band, Felix and the Escorts, and tom would be its first drummer. This is a memoir of Felix's rise and his journey to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame through the eyes of someone who admired him for his warmth and levelheadedness as he etched his own musical style, a sound that still makes your hands and feet move when you hear it.
