The Farmer’s Heartbeat

Overview

He is rooted in the farm. She is pulled by a wider world. Part One Lifelong neighbours Greg Wells and Aggie Davis have always fit—best friends turned first love, with graduation close and a future that looks like sunrise over Goodrich fields. Greg sees a life they’ll build in the soil they both cherish. Aggie’s heart, though, beats to the rhythm of distant streets and untried chances. When a family crisis sends Aggie to the city to care for her grandmother, distance widens more than miles. New opportunities beckon; old dreams tug her home. Greg waits, working the land and believing in the life they planned, while Aggie must choose between independence and the promise of the boy who knows her best. The Farmer’s Heartbeat: Part One is a sweet small-town prequel about first love, hard choices, and the ties that pull us toward the places—and people—we call home. He trusts time. She trusts her gut. Part Two Four years later, Greg and Aggie are married, the farm is theirs, and a baby is on the way. Everyone calls their newborn “such a good baby.” Aggie hears something else: a silence that worries her, a distance she can’t explain. Greg believes it’s a phase. Aggie can’t shake the feeling their child needs more than patience. Sleepless nights and frayed tempers turn into questions neither knows how to answer. To hold their marriage—and their family—together, they’ll have to listen bravely, seek help, and choose each other when it’s hardest. The Farmer’s Heartbeat: Part Two continues Farmers of Goodrich County, a sweet, clean small-town farm romance about courage, partnership, and loving a child exactly as they are. ____________________________________________ Praise for the Farmers of Goodrich County series: ★★★★★  “Wonderfully clean romance” ★★★★★ “Love this story. Author Information

Dr. Sharon A. Mitchell lives on a farm, with her nearest neighbor several miles away. Doesn't that seem like the ideal setting to spark the imagination? She takes long walks with her hundred-pound German Shepherd dogs, Pickles and Dill. (She didn't name them - don't blame her). The Farmers of Goodrich County is a series of clean and wholesome romances set in a western small town, farming region. She's working on her eighth psychological thriller novel for the When Bad Things Happen series. Besides two, three short stories tied to that series, and bonus material at the end of many of the books, she's written six novels, each featuring an autistic child or young adult. Two nonfiction books accompany that autism series. Sharon's been a teacher, counselor, psychologist and consultant for decades and continues to teach university classes to soon-to-be teachers and administrators.
