Overview

What is a family cult? Kenogi, a fundamentalist Christian family cult survivor, illustrates the journey of escape, self-discovery, and healing through the halls of The Family Cult Paradox. This book is a self-help guide for anyone leaving a religious cult, be it familial or non-familial. It compares the non-familial, and more common, organized cult to the familial cult in a way that has not been done before. It also introduces the idea of the familial Christian cult in a way that victims, survivors, support systems, and clinicians can understand and assist the person in the cult with their recovery. This book serves as a self-help tool, and guide if you are leaving a familial cult. It also is a resource for helping someone in the process of leaving a familial cult. It includes a guide to understanding the dynamics, the abuse, the victim experience, how to leave, support systems, and the therapeutic discussions.

Author Information

Kenogi is a familial cult survivor.Their book ""The Family Cult Paradox"" is a self-help guide for all cult survivors, but with a heavy focus on being born into the familial Fundamentalist Christian cult. They were born into a closed fundamentalist Christian family cult, indoctrinated from birth and isolated within a homeschooling Christian community. They endured more than 30 years of narcissistic enmeshed parents, that were also the family's cult leaders. It was not until recently that Kenogi was able to escape and find not only freedom, but safety as well. With this journey, Kenogi, found deep gaps within the therapeutic community and gained understanding of the situation they had just escaped from. It is with those gaps in mind that they set out close them, and build those bridges. Through their book, Kenogi wants all cult survivors, familial or otherwise, and those who experienced religious trauma to know that they are ""No Longer Hushed.""
