The Faith Of A Widow: When the faith overcomes pain

Overview

Chantale TETA, widely known to her loved ones as Mama HADASSAH, is a tenacious woman who was born into a polygamous family with many children. She has experienced the highs and lows, not only within her family but also in her marriage and professional life. She has faced numerous challenges throughout her life, but thanks to her inner strength, courage and resilience, she has always managed to get back on her feet and move forward. Although she now lives in the United States, she attended school in the village of Bandjoun, in West Cameroon, and then continued her studies in Bafoussam, the West province capital where not many high schools were available at that time. In Africa, and particularly in Cameroon, children in polygamous families are each raised by their own mother. Influenced by her mother, Chantale TETA absorbed values such as hospitality, empathy, compassion, generosity, and humility from an early age. These qualities have fueled her constant desire to help others. It was in this spirit that she assisted people around her, including a young man who, once cured of his illness, fell in love with her and married her. Their marriage, though full of tenderness, was strewn with obstacles, particularly from her in-laws. Fortunately, she could count on the unwavering support of her own family and friends. Chantale TETA fought to preserve her husband's love and her children's well-being, facing daily trials and emotional wounds, often inflicted by her relatives and in-laws. Despite everything, she remained strong and determined. One day, feeling her life was in danger and after several attempts to destabilize her, she had to flee from Cameroon to the United States. But even in exile, life was not a peaceful journey.
