Karen Calhoun B.A., M.S., M.B.A. is an internationally respected librarian and change leader who is currently at the University of Pittsburgh helping to develop community-centred services. She is an active researcher, writer, speaker and consultant on digital libraries and related disciplines and has just completed a celebrated tenure at OCLC. Professor Gobinda Chowdhury BSc Hons, MSc, PhD, FCLIP is Professor in Information Science at iSchool@northumbria, and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Information Sciences at Northumbria University. Before joining Northumbria University he was a Professor and Director of the Centre for Information and Knowledge Management at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. For over 25 years he has worked as an academic and researcher in information science in different parts of the world including Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia. For the past few years he has been actively involved in the iSchools activities. Professor Chowdhury has written or edited 15 books and over 150 research papers. Schubert Foo BSc, MBA, PhD, CEng, CITP, FIMechE, FBCS, PPA(P) is Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Humanities at Nanyang Technological University. He was a former member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Information Science, Journal of Information and Knowledge Management and International Yearbook of Library and Information Management. He has co-written and edited a number of books including Knowledge Management Tools and Techniques, Design and Usability of Digital Libraries: Case Studies in the Asia Pacific, Social information retrieval systems: Emerging technologies and applications for searching the Web effectively, Handbook of Research on Digital Libraries: Design, Development and Impact. Alison Mackenzie is the Dean of Learning Services at Edge Hill University. Prior to taking up this post, she held the post of University Librarian at Bangor University, Wales, had a variety of roles at Manchester Metropolitan University and in her early career worked in art colleges and commercial practice. Alison has been active in SCONUL for a number of years, as a member and Chair of the Working Group on Information Literacy and as a contributor to the e-learning task-and-finish group. She has been active in the promotion of digital literacies and is currently managing a project on behalf of SCONUL on the development of digital scholarship skills by information professionals. She is currently Chair of the Performance Measurement and Quality strategy group. Lindsey Martin is the Assistant Head of learning Services at Edge Hill University, responsible for the learning technologies managed and supported by Learning Services. She has overall responsibility for the virtual learning environment and its associated systems, media development, classroom AV and ICT support and ICT staff development. Lindsey has worked in academic libraries for the past 19 years in a variety of roles including liaison librarian, research coordinator and manager of SOLSTICE, Edge Hill's HEFCE funded Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning. She first became involved with e-learning as an academic librarian creating e-learning modules to support colleagues and students developing information and digital literacies. Lindsey is a member of the editorial board for the SCONUL Focus journal and secretary of the Heads of eLearning Forum Steering group (HeLF). Lorcan Dempsey oversees the research division and participates in planning at OCLC. He has worked for library and educational organizations in Ireland, England (as Director of UKOLN), and the US. He has written and spoken extensively on policy, research, and service development, and in the areas of networked information and digital libraries. Kenneth J. Varnum is Web Systems Manager at the University of Michigan Library, US. His research interests include open source software, discovery environments, and personalized information delivery systems. Dr Milena Dobreva is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Library Information and Archive Sciences at the University of Malta. She managed the DiSCmap project on user priorities in digitisation of special collections and coordinated the Europeana user and functionality study. Andy O'Dwyer has been with the BBC since 1986 applying technical solutions to the long term preservation of broadcast material. He has managed several European collaborative projects providing online access to parts of the BBC's newly digitized content. Pierluigi Feliciati is a Researcher in the University of Macerata, Italy. Kenneth J. Varnum is the Web Systems Manager at the University of Michigan Library, where he manages the library web site and development of new features and functionality. An active member of the library technology world for 18 years, Ken's research and professional interests range from Drupal and site redesign to user-generated content.
