OverviewThis book chronicles the overwhelmingly powerful, human, and transformative experience that restorative encounters among victims and perpetrators embody from the perspective of facilitators, a victim, and a perpetrator. It describes and reflects on the methodology and outcome of the encounters between people who had suffered terrorist violence -either as direct surviving victims, or as relatives of the murdered- and the people convicted of these very serious crimes, during 2011 and 2012. Some of these encounters are approached in the prizewinning movie “Maixabel” by Iciar Bollaín. They have set an important but humble opportunity for peace building in the Basque Country.
