A great way to inspire your kid's love of the outdoors! The Explore More Outdoor Challenge for Kids was created for kids (and visiting kids) in and near Evergreen, Colorado as a way to learn more about our Bear Creek Watershed. Kids are encouraged to take part in any of 5 outdoor challenges, including hiking, birding, wildlife viewing, plant identification and respectful recreation. Once they complete the challenge, they can bring their activity book to the Evergreen Nature Center and receive a special stamp for each challenge completed. Complete all five and earn your Junior Naturalist award!

Vanessa Hayes is passionate about environmental education. Vanessa worked at Lookout Mountain Nature Center for two years as a seasonal naturalist before joining the Greenway Foundation in its South Platte River Environmental Education program. Vanessa served as the Executive Director of the Evergreen Nature Center where she created the Explore More Outdoor Challenge program. She loves hiking, camping, cycling, snowboarding, and most of all, being a mom! Jenna Audlin is an 8-year old nature enthusiast who loves hiking, picnics, and taking care of the forest and its creatures. In 2015, Jenna founded The Nature Club for Kids with support from The Evergreen Nature Center.
