Jovelle has amplified and humanized the experiences of so many global citizens."" - Simone Johnson, International Affairs Professional and Podcaster - The Immigrant Experience in America ""Authentic and very honest, simply great! Jovelle's experiences are embodying the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutimbakam (Sanskrit)."" - Deepak Bhojwani - Switzerland, Wharton alumni ""The Expat is a must-read for anyone who is considering or about to embark on expatriate life. Dr. Jovelle Fernandez's charmingly candid account of her adventures living in five countries during the course of her colorful career will make you laugh, gasp, and maybe even wipe away a tear or two. Life lessons fill every page and you will definitely want to keep a notebook and pen close."" - Sam Sotto, best-selling author ""Great read. It's that interesting and humorous at the same time. Seriously, it's full of wisdom."" -J.O., USA ""MUST- READ! This book is about the experiences, challenges and lessons learned by a Filipino doctor, mother and a wife EXPAT. As a Filipino who lives in Canada, I had experienced those being fished out, bullied and alienated from work, too. As what you have said in your book, ""The Filipino culture in me about resilience is the one that kept me going"" is so true. Your advocacies and Velvet Hammer type of leadership is what makes you ""The Rising Star"" my Friend! Congratulations and Mabuhay!"" -Dina, dentist, Canada"
