This book presents a comprehensive collection of epigraphic rubbings and ancient books from Zhejiang University. It attempts to sort out the evolution of the history of Chinese calligraphy through the exhibited works; this book conducts a detailed study of each exhibit, including each there is one basic information about the exhibits and one short research article each, constructing a complete development sequence of the history of calligraphy from the perspective of the production, use and art of the works themselves. In addition, this book also summarizes and reconstructs related cultural derivative activities, such as the reconstruction of ancient rituals, which allowed rubbings to be printed in large quantities and enter the lives of literati, making rubbings a practical model for professional readers to learn calligraphy.

Xue Longchun is a professor and doctoral tutor at the Cultural Heritage Institute of Zhejiang University. He was selected among the academic leaders of the Qinglan Project of Jiangsu Education Department. He is the vice-chairman and dean of the Academic Department of Nanjing Calligraphers Association, a member of Chinese Calligraphy Association, China Canglang Calligraphy Society, and the National 1970s Calligraphers Art Committee.
