Muhammed Mekki is a classically trained tajweed instructor, licensed in 2006 to teach Qur'anic recitation by Sheikh Mohammad Ali Othman in Amman, Jordan. His ijazah, or formal license to teach and recite the Qur'an, is in the mode of Hafs, on the authority of 'Asim, by the way of al-Shatibiyyah. He lives in Dubai, UAE with his wife and three children.
