Third, we are swayed by erroneous reasoning arising from misguided previous conditioning. It is indisputable that the physical realm is far more apparent than the subtle structure of the spiritual. While the material world requires no effort or special insight to observe, the spiritual is hidden from all but those who have attained spiritual awakening. Spiritual awakening is the result of expanded awareness and enhanced perception, leading to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the reality that surrounds us. This is not a quick fix advertised on a late-night infomercial. Rather, it is a dedicated, gradual journey of spiritual and self-discovery.
