OverviewThis book proposes a rigorous evaluation of the management of the health crisis linked to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Congo, with a particular focus on the support provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) between 2019 and 2022. Using a mixed-methods approach that rigorously combines qualitative and quantitative analysis tools, this study aims to measure the efficiency and scope of the actions implemented by WHO over the three strategic phases of the crisis: the preparedness phase, the emergency response phase and the recovery phase, in a particularly uncertain context such as that of the Republic of Congo. The analysis also takes into account the repercussions of the pandemic on WHO's organization and operating methods, both nationally, in the Congolese context, and internationally. Based on empirical research, this book highlights the significant advances observed in the field, while critically identifying the structural flaws in the Congolese healthcare system. The book makes both operational and forward-looking recommendations.
