After initially speaking about his achievements as president, Trump went on to focus primarily on the unfairness of the agreement for his country. The former climate change denier then repeatedly attacked the People's Republic of China, which he claimed was gaining immense advantages at the expense of the Americans under the terms of the agreement (Grandoni, 2017, WashingtonPost).
