Author Information

Marcia Rock, PhD, is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG). Prior to joining the Spartan community, she was an associate professor at The University of Alabama (UA). Throughout her career, she has dedicated her research, teaching, and service endeavors to working with others in solving real-world problems of educational practice. She has authored or coauthored articles that have appeared in Educational Leadership, Journal of Technology and Teacher Education, Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education, Teacher Education and Special Education, Journal of Staff Development, Phi Delta Kappan, Exceptionality, Intervention in School & Clinic, Teaching Exceptional Children, Focus on Exceptional Children, Preventing School Failure, Education & Treatment of Children, The Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions, Journal of Behavioral Education, Education and Training in Autism and Developmental Disabilities Journal, and Career Development and Transition for Exceptional Individuals. Rock is a past president for the Teacher Education Division (TED) of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). She has secured more than $2 million in federal personnel and leadership development grants. For the past 10 years, she has worked closely with state department personnel in North Carolina and Alabama to incorporate real-time coaching through a continuum into state improvement and state personnel development grants. Also, she has received a number of research and teaching awards at UA and UNCG. With collaboration and support from family and colleagues, Rock has devoted more than a decade to pioneering the research and development of real-time feedback and coaching on a continuum, personally conducting more than 800 sessions.
